Land Dispute: Osun Govt Moves To Resolve Clash Between Warring Communities, Calls For Dialogue

As part of effort to bring lasting peace to warring communities, the Osun state governor,  Ademola Adeleke has ordered the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning to map out modalities for resolution of the ongoing land dispute.

Truth Live News reports that there has been a long standing land dispute which has generated unrest in Ile-Ogbo and other Adjoining Communities in Ayedire Local government( Momu, Eleni, Obielu, Oke-Osun).

Governor Adeleke made this known via a statement signed by George Alabi, the Commissioner, Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning.

The move became necessary to the halt the escalating tensions as well  to preempt any potential communal clashes arising from the land crisis.

Adeleke urged the ministry and other key stakeholders involved in the resolution process, to expedite efforts in finding a peaceful settlement to the dispute.

He reinstated his administration’s commitment to fostering harmony and peaceful coexistence among all parties involved.

The governor pleaded with “actors in the land crisis to immediately halt all hostilities following an ongoing investigation and fact-finding meeting initiated by the Osun State Government.

Furthermore, he expressed optimism that dialogue and cooperation are paramount in achieving a fair and lasting resolution.

“As the fact-finding meeting progresses, the State Government assures all stakeholders that their concerns will be attentively addressed, and a transparent process will be followed to reach an equitable agreement.”

“The Osun State Government calls upon all members of the community to remain calm, patient, and law-abiding throughout this resolution process adding that the Adeleke led administration is committed to ensuring that justice prevails, and that all parties involved find a mutually beneficial resolution that upholds the rights and interests of everyone concerned.

“The Government will keep the public and the media informed of any developments in this matter as the resolution efforts continues.”
