The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has flagged off three new roads in Aba which includes Emelogu road, Shallom road and Cemetry road phase 1, sparking excitement in the minds of residents.
During the road commissioning ceremony, Governor Otti reiterated his unwavering commitment to fulfilling the promises he made during his campaign.
He explained that what Aba needs is to open it up with good infracstructure and enabling environment that would support the social and economic lives of the people, which his administration is committed to achieve.
The governor was accompanied by his Deputy, Ikechukwu Emetu, and key members of his cabinet during the commissioning event.
Also speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Don Oti, urged beneficiaries of the roads to reciprocate the government’s gesture by taking responsibility for keeping the roads free from refuse and drainage blockages, adding that giving adequate attention to road infrastructure is paramount to the administration.
The governor was received by a crowd made up of traders, traditional rulers, leaders of the transport unions and party faithful in the state.
