Anthony Joshua Relocates Multi-Million Business Empire to Dubai

The British Nigerian former two-time heavyweight world champion has formally relocated to Dubai, with corporate filings for his £150 million business empire confirming the UAE as his new country of residence.

The move is revealed in the paperwork filed for his two companies Sparta Promotions Limited and 258 Investments Limited both of which now list the United Arab Emirates as his country of residence, a declaration he is legally required to make.

His uncle Adedamola Joshua confirmed the relocation to PUNCH Sports Extra, revealing that the 36-year-old boxer had actually made the move months ago. “He has already moved to Dubai. He doesn’t need to inform us before making such a move, but I know he has moved a while ago, talking of months back now,” he said.

On the question of safety given the ongoing Iranian drone attacks on the UAE, the uncle added that Joshua’s presence in Dubai is on and off. “Definitely, he won’t be there now,” he said.

Dubai’s absence of income tax makes it extremely attractive to high net worth individuals. Had Joshua remained a UK tax resident, he would have faced obligations on dividend payments of £10.1 million in 2024 and £6.3 million in 2023.

His promotional company Sparta Promotions generated profits exceeding £20 million in 2024, resulting in a UK tax bill of £6.65 million.

Joshua joins a growing list of prominent and wealthy Britons who have formally established themselves abroad in recent years.
