Interfaith: Tinubu Orders Nationwide Rice Distribution For Lent, Ramadan

Lucky Obukohwo, Reporting

President Bola Tinubu has given a marching order to the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to distribute rice across all states of the federation as part of a nationwide support initiative for citizens observing the Ramadan and Lenten seasons.

The President’s directive, according to a statement issued by Governor of Imo State and Director-General, Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hope Uzodimma, aims to demonstrate compassion and promote unity among Nigerians during a period of deep spiritual reflection for both Muslims and Christians.

According to the statement, under the arrangement, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will coordinate the distribution through their extensive grassroots network to ensure families in every part of the country benefit from the gesture.

The distribution will be carried out through state, local government, and ward-level structures to guarantee transparency and wide reach.

He said the initiative underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to national unity, compassion, and interfaith harmony.

“This initiative reflects President Tinubu’s belief in charity and togetherness. Ramadan and Lent remind us of sacrifice, care, and support for one another.

“Through this effort, families across Nigeria will feel the spirit of solidarity during this sacred period,” Uzodimma said.

This latest distribution, he said follows a similar intervention during last year’s Christmas season, when rice was also shared nationwide to assist citizens marking the festive period.

The continued effort, Uzodimma noted, highlights the administration’s dedication to supporting Nigerians through key religious and cultural observances.
