
The Federal Government has approved Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays to mark the end of Ramadan.
The announcement was made by Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who congratulated Muslims across the country on completing the fasting period.
In a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, the government urged Muslim faithful to continue embracing values such as peace, generosity, tolerance, and sacrifice beyond the Ramadan season.
Citizens were also encouraged to use the period to pray for national unity and stability, while celebrating responsibly and extending support to those in need.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
