C’River Gov.Suspends CSC’s Chairman, Appoints NUJ’s Chairman As New CPS

The Cross River State Governor Sen Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the appointment of the Chairman, Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ Comrade Nsa Gill as his new Chief Press Secretary.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Governmment Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh, on Monday.

Prior to his appointment as the new CPS, he served as Chairman, NUJ Cross River State Chapter.

He took over from Mr Emmanuel Ogbeche, whom the governor has appointed as his Special Adviser Media (Abuja).

In addition, the governor has appointed for himself Mr Linus Obogo as Special Adviser Media and Publicity.

While Sir Maurice Effiwat appointed as acting chairman Cross River State Civil Service Commission.

For instance, he is to replace the suspended Civil Service Commission Chairman Mr Uko Inaku.

Meanwhile, the governor has approved the appointment of Prince Edwin Okon as Chairman, Cross River State Internal Revenue Service.

Furthermore, he has confirmed the appointment of Mr Abang Sylvester Otu, as the Cross River State Chief Protocol.

The statement with reference number SSG/GSA/102/VOL.VI/333, dated March 11, 2024, reads:

“His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State, has approved the immediate suspension of Mr Uko Inaku as chairman state Civil Service Commission.”

” Meanwhile, His Excellency has also approved the confirmation of the above appointment.”

“The appointment and confirmation are with immediate effect.”

“His Excellency heartily congratulates the new appointees and wishes them success in their new portfolios.”

Recall that Truth Live News had in previous weeks reported that the governor has appointed 38 Special Advisers including 21 special Assistants.

Other people he appointed were Chairmen of Boards and Agencies in the state.
