In a recent development within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum has reaffirmed his position as the acting chairman, as announced during the party’s 98th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.
The NEC, in a statement released by Debo Ologunagba, the national publicity secretary of the party, emphasized the imperative of solidarity among all party members to advance the PDP’s agenda for the welfare of Nigerians.

⁃ Rejection of any tendencies towards a one-party state, emphasizing the importance of democracy and good governance.
⁃ Call for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to convene a special National Security Council meeting to address the country’s security challenges.
⁃ Demand for the restructuring of the Economic Team to include individuals with integrity and competence to revitalize the economy.
⁃ Request for a review of policies stifling the economy and causing hardship for citizens.
