Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia aka 2Baba, has raised the hope of Afrobeats music lovers who are entertaining fear that such genre of music is fading out.
In a recent interview with Yaw on Wazobia FM Lagos, Truth Live News Media quoted him to have said that, despite certain pessimistic forecasts, Afrobeats will remain on the global scene.
The “If love is a crime” crooner boasted of the country’s limitless supply of youthful talents who are ensuring its continuity, stressing that young performers are the lifeblood of Afrobeats.
According to him, “Afrobeats can never die. If you listen to some of the young Afrobeats artists now, you will agree with me that the genre is in safe hands.
“Recently, one of the young artists, Fola, remade my song ‘If Love Is A Crime.’ I really loved it. Soft, smooth vocals. It is amazing. The present crops of artists have special flows. I love their styles.”
