The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the All Progressives Congress ( APC) governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo to be man enough to engage in a debate with its governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo, rather than being elusive.
The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, who gave the challenge, on Sunday, in Abuja, said Okpebholo allegedly has nothing to offer the people of Edo State.
He said that while Ighodalo is going around the state campaigning, the APC candidate is allegedly avoiding engagements with the people, including media interviews.
“our Party is running a very robust, issue-based campaign that has penetrated the nook and crannies of Edo State with a detailed people-oriented Manifesto that is resonating with the people of Edo State as it embodies their aspiration in every sector of life.
“You will observe that in Edo State today, it is our candidate that is campaigning. Asue Ighodalo’s popularity and acceptability by the majority of the people of Edo State have dwarfed, dumbed and incapacitated the APC and its candidate, Monday Okpebholo”, Ologunagba said.
Continuing, ” On the other hand, the APC candidate Monday Okpehbolo is not campaigning or engaging the people having realizing that he is no match to Asue Ighodalo as he lacks capacity, competence and has nothing to offer to the people of Edo State.
“We challenge the APC candidate to make himself available to media interview and scrutiny. If Monday Okpebholo is indeed putting himself for public office, he should make himself available for public scrutiny.”
