Soludo Opens Applications for Permanent Secretary Positions in Anambra Civil Service

Anambra State Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo has thrown open applications for the position of permanent secretary in the state’s civil service, inviting qualified officers to express interest.

The invitation was contained in a public service announcement signed by the Anambra State Head of Service, Ngozi Iwouno, and made available to journalists on Thursday 2nd April 2026. The announcement was dated March 27, 2026, and copied to the Deputy Governor, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, and other relevant offices and parastatals.

According to the notice, applicants must meet the following criteria: the applicant must be a confirmed civil servant in the Anambra State Public Service; must be on the directorate cadre that is, not below the rank of Deputy Director and not above the rank of Director; and must have a minimum of two years of service remaining before mandatory retirement age.

The notice also extended the invitation to qualified officers outside the Anambra State Civil Service, provided they are on the directorate cadre within the ranks of Deputy Director or Director.

All eligible officers are required to log on to the Anambra State government website at to fill, print, and submit their Expression of Interest forms to the Office of the Head of Service in Awka on or before April 8, 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next stage of the selection process.

The recruitment comes weeks after Soludo’s second-term inauguration in March, during which he directed all political appointees to hand over to existing permanent secretaries pending the constitution of a new cabinet.
