The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has issued a public alert about fraudulent recruitment activities being carried out by scammers across the country.

In a statement on Wednesday, NIS Public Relations Officer DCI Kenneth Udo emphasized that all recruitment processes within the service are transparent, merit-based, and entirely free of charge.

The NIS clarified that job vacancies are only advertised through official channels, including the NIS website, national newspapers, and other government platforms.

“The Nigeria Immigration Service maintains that all recruitment exercises are conducted in a transparent, free, and merit-based manner. Vacancies are advertised through the NIS website, official government channels, and recognized national newspapers,” the statement said.

The agency also assured the public that it is working closely with authorities to track down and prosecute individuals involved in these scams.

The NIS reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism in its operations.

“The Service remains committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all its operations,” the statement added.

Comptroller General KN Nandap urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to these fraudulent schemes. She advised that any suspicious messages or individuals claiming to offer NIS recruitment services should be reported immediately.
