Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has called on the Nigerian Government to drop charges against 101 #EndBadGovernance protesters.
This follows President Bola Tinubu’s directive to release minors arrested during the protests.
Falana cited lack of evidence supporting treason allegations, emphasizing that releasing the minors is not enough.
He demanded the remaining protesters’ charges be dropped.
“The Attorney-General of the Federation should discontinue the charge pending against the remaining 101 protesters,” Falana stated.
Recall that the #EndBadGovernance protests, sparked by economic hardship and bad governance, took place across Nigeria in August.
Falana criticized the prosecution’s attempts to prove treason charges, citing irrelevant evidence such as Russian flags, fire extinguishers, and prepaid meters.
