The head of the intelligence unit of Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been killed in a reported strike, according to Iranian state media.
The official, identified as Majid Khademi, was reported killed on April 6, 2026, in what authorities described as an attack carried out by U.S. and Israeli forces.
Khademi had taken up the role in 2025 after his predecessor was killed in a similar strike. Over the years, he held several senior positions within Iran’s security structure, focusing on intelligence operations and counter-espionage.
Before leading the IRGC’s intelligence division, he headed an internal unit responsible for monitoring threats and protecting the organisation from infiltration. He also served in key roles within Iran’s defence ministry.
The IRGC intelligence arm is regarded as one of the country’s most powerful security institutions, playing a major role in domestic surveillance and efforts to counter foreign influence.
His death adds to a growing list of high-ranking Iranian figures killed since the escalation of conflict involving the United States and Israel in recent weeks.
