Pastor Bolaji Idowu, leader of Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), has clarified his involvement with the Nigerian Police, denying reports of his arrest.

In a video message shared on Sunday, December 8, 2024, the pastor explained he was invited to assist in an investigation concerning a church member accused of financial misconduct.

“This is from me to you: I was invited and not arrested,” Pastor Idowu stated. “I was invited by the police to help in an investigation about a church member that got into some trouble.”

He refrained from divulging specific details, citing the ongoing investigation and the need to protect the individuals involved. “If you start mentioning names right now, which is what most of you expect me to do, you will also be ruining someone’s life,” he said, urging patience as law enforcement continues its work.

The case reportedly involves allegations of fraud amounting to N1.5 billion, but Pastor Idowu emphasised his limited role and his intention to step back after offering assistance.

The pastor also criticised media reports, describing them as misleading and inaccurate. He thanked his congregation for their support, saying, “Thank you for trusting and supporting me even when you didn’t know the facts of the matter.”

The investigation remains active, and Pastor Idowu reaffirmed his commitment to cooperating with authorities while respecting the confidentiality of those involved.
