The chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Edo State, Apostle General Dr Irekpono Omoike has called on all Christians, well-to-do individuals, corporate bodies, faith based and other organisations to use the period of Christmas celebration more in showing charity, care, concern, and selfless service to the less privileged in the society.
Apostle General Dr Omoike in his message of felicitation to the Christian community, congratulated Christians for their faithfulness, steadfastness and dedication even in the face of daunting challenges occasioned by the economic hardship in the country.
The chairman of CAN said Christmas celebration is not for merriment alone, but for sober reflection on the life and times of Jesus Christ whose birth, life, teachings laid the foundation for salvation, love, peaceful coexistence and peity without discriminating against the rich and the poor.
Apostle General Dr. Omoike called on christians to use the period in praying fervently for peace and abundant blessings in the coming year, 2025.
