In a move fueling speculations of an imminent political shake-up in Bauchi State, Governor Bala Mohammed on Thursday hosted members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the state currently serving in the House of Representatives at his private residence.
The high-level meeting, held behind closed doors, comes at a time of increasing political realignments across the state, with observers closely watching the governor’s next move amid whispers of a possible defection to the ruling APC.
Though details of the deliberations were not disclosed, the gathering is widely seen as a strategic engagement that could redefine party dynamics ahead of future political contests.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Hon. Ismaila Dabo, who represents Toro Federal Constituency, confirmed that consultations are ongoing and hinted at a collective decision by the group in the near future.
“We are still consulting widely. At the appropriate time, we will make our position known to the public,” Dabo stated, leaving room for further speculation.
