Toba Owojaiye reporting
Abuja, Nigeria
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed online reports alleging that retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, was kidnapped and murdered by assailants in Abuja.
Recall Truth Live News had earlier reported that a counter-insurgency publication had claimed that Parradang was attacked in the Area 1 axis of Abuja on Tuesday morning after being trailed from a bank where he had made a cash withdrawal. According to the report, the assailants allegedly robbed him of the money and took his life.
However, in a statement released by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the command debunked the report, clarifying that the former Immigration CG died in a hotel room after spending time with a female guest.
The statement disclosed that on March 3, 2025, at approximately 12:00 PM, Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel at Area 3 Junction, Abuja, paying N22,000 for a one-night stay. Shortly after his arrival, he was visited by a female guest, who later departed around 4:00 PM the same day.
According to the police, the deceased remained in his room afterward. Concerned for his well-being, a friend, who is a military officer, traced him to the hotel in the early hours of March 4, 2025. Upon arrival, the officer and hotel staff found Parradang unresponsive, seated in a chair.
Authorities at the Durumi Police Station were immediately notified, and officers arrived at the scene to secure the area, take photographs, and collect evidence. The body has since been transferred to the National Hospital for further examination, while hotel staff are cooperating with police investigations.
The FCT Police Command urged the public to disregard misleading reports and await official findings from the ongoing investigation.
