Dangiwa Expresses Gratitude to Tinubu as He Exits Cabinet

The Outgoing Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu after leaving office following a recent cabinet reshuffle.

In a statement, Mr Dangiwa described his time as minister as a privilege and a responsibility to serve the country, saying he was honoured to have been entrusted with leading reforms in Nigeria’s housing sector.

He thanked President Bola Tinubu for the confidence placed in him, saying the opportunity allowed him to contribute to efforts aimed at improving access to affordable housing.

“It has been a rare privilege to contribute to policies and programmes aimed at expanding access to affordable housing for Nigerians,” he said.

Mr Dangiwa said that during his tenure, the ministry recorded progress under the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in areas such as housing delivery, public-private partnerships, and reforms in land administration.

He highlighted the rollout of the Renewed Hope Housing Programme as one of the key achievements, adding that it was designed to boost economic growth, create jobs, and improve social inclusion.

In the statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Strategy, Mark Chieshe, the former minister also thanked colleagues in the Federal Executive Council, housing sector stakeholders, and ministry staff for their support.

“I am grateful to my colleagues in government, stakeholders across the housing value chain, and the dedicated staff of the ministry,” he said, adding that their efforts helped “lay strong foundations for a more structured housing system.”

Mr Dangiwa also confirmed he would ensure a smooth transition to new leadership, while expressing confidence that ongoing projects in the sector would continue.

He wished the incoming minister success and said he remained committed to supporting national development efforts in housing, infrastructure, and economic growth.
