The Acting Governor of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently intervene and provide comprehensive security support to protect the people of Katsina from rising waves of attacks on local communities.

The call follows the tragic incident in Unguwan Muntau community and similar assaults in other parts of the state, which have left residents in fear and uncertainty.

“We respectfully request the President to give matching orders to all security agencies to bring a decisive end to these unprovoked attacks on our peaceful communities. The people of Katsina State deserve to live in safety and pursue their livelihoods without fear,” Jobe declared.

The Acting Governor stressed that farmers, traders, and families in Katsina must not be forced to live in constant anxiety. He emphasized the need for the President’s direct intervention to mobilize resources and strengthen the security architecture required to secure the state.

While urging for enhanced federal backing, Jobe also commended security operatives currently on the ground. “We acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of our security personnel who continue to risk their lives to protect our communities. Their dedication and sacrifice do not go unnoticed,” he said.

He further praised the contributions of the Community Watch Corps and vigilante groups for their resilience in defending local populations against criminal elements.
