Cubana Chief Priest Eyes 2027 House of Reps Seat Under APC Banner

Socialite and businessman Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has officially declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing the Orsu, Orlu, and Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State.

Running under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Okechukwu stated that his entry into the legislative race is driven by a commitment to improve the lives of his constituents and provide effective representation at the federal level.

The declaration marks a significant pivot in Okechukwu’s political journey, following his active role in the 2023 elections where he initially supported the Labour Party.

Explaining his shift to the APC, the businessman emphasized the importance of aligning with the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to secure developmental benefits for the South-East region.

He also highlighted his background as an entrepreneur who has created jobs for over a thousand youths, arguing that this experience equips him with a practical understanding of the economic needs and aspirations of his people.

Support for his candidacy has surfaced within the APC hierarchy, with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu describing the socialite’s move as a strategic development for the party’s grassroots mobilization.

While the announcement has sparked mixed reactions due to his previous political affiliations, Okechukwu has maintained that his primary focus is on growth and strategic partnerships that will bring infrastructure and opportunities to his home constituency in the 2027 general elections.
