CROSS RIVER, CALABAR – 148 Studios has entered a major production agreement with celebrated Nigerian producer Felix Sabinaq, a development industry observers told Truthlivenews could reshape Cross River State’s fast-rising creative sector.

The Odukpani-born hitmaker, known for producing chart-topping sounds for D’banj and Timaya, confirmed the partnership shortly after signing the deal in Calabar. He described it as a strategic return home that aligns with his artistic ambitions. “I am delighted to have entered into this agreement with 148 Studios,” Sabinaq said, assuring fans of “great and exceptional hits.”

Sabinaq, formerly known as Feezikx/WeBeat, said he plans to work closely with emerging and established talents across Cross River and neighbouring states. He noted that the collaboration offers him a platform to nurture new voices while expanding the state’s creative output.

Prince Boniface Udoka, CEO of 148 Studios and artist popularly known as AsobTheVibe, told INVESTIGATOR that the signing marks a new chapter for the brand’s expansion.

He said the studio is upgrading its facilities with modern equipment to compete nationally. “We’ve decided to take the game to the next level,” Udoka said, adding that Sabinaq’s expertise and local roots made him the ideal choice.

Udoka explained that situational ethics guided the firm’s decision to build its base in Cross River instead of entertainment hubs like Lagos or Abuja. He argued that the company must respond to local talent concentration and economic realities. “There are great talents from and in Cross River State,” he noted, stressing that while national expansion is planned, the state remains the company’s operational anchor.

Analysts say the move reflects a broader shift toward decentralizing Nigeria’s creative economy, enabling states outside Lagos to attract high-value entertainment investments.

Beyond production, 148 Studios offers artist management, promotion, PR services, video production, and creative consultancy. The company also runs a modern visual studio for podcasts and multimedia projects.

Udoka encouraged artists, creators, and brands to explore the facility’s offerings, describing the studio as “a one-stop shop for audio and video production and management.” He directed the public to the company’s website and its 8 Miles by Agrofeed location for more information.
