A new champion has emerged in the boys category of the Uromi Like Minds Initiative ULMI Annual Secondary Schools Football Tournament, as Buddy Group of Schools dethroned defending champions Agba Grammar School in a pulsating final decided by penalties.
Truth Live News reports that the keenly contested encounter, played this afternoon at the main bowl of the Esan North East Council Sports Complex, Uromi, ended 1 – 1 at the end of regulation time. Both sides showcased resilience, tactical discipline, and attacking intent, but neither could find a decisive goal in open play.
With the scores level, the final was settled via a penalty shootout. Buddy Group of Schools held their nerve under pressure, converting their kicks with confidence to record a 4 – 1 penalty shootout victory. The result sealed Buddy Group of Schools’ first title in the competition and brought an end to Agba Grammar School’s reign as champions.
