Borno Senator Disburses Millions to APC Executives Ahead of Eid-el-Kabir

Senator representing Borno Central, Kaka Lawan, has distributed ₦135,650,000 to executives of the All Progressives Congress across his constituency ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The senator’s legislative aide, Usman Alkali, disclosed this in a statement posted on Facebook on Friday, May 15, 2026.

According to Alkali, the cash donation was shared on Thursday, May 14, 2026, to support APC executives in preparing for the Sallah festivities.

“Senator representing Borno Central, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan (SAN), on Thursday distributed cash to APC executives in his Borno Central constituency, totalling ₦135,650,000 to help them celebrate the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival,” the statement read.

Alkali noted that the gesture marks the third time the lawmaker has made such a donation since joining the National Assembly.

He added that the intervention was aimed at appreciating party executives for their loyalty and contributions toward strengthening democracy and sustaining the party’s structure in the constituency.

Meanwhile, Lawan recently withdrew from the Borno State governorship race and endorsed Mustapha Gubio, who is reportedly backed by Governor Babagana Zulum.

According to Alkali, the decision followed a stakeholders’ meeting held in Abuja, where party leaders agreed that Lawan should step down from the race and retain his Senate seat.
