Former two time member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Engr. Omoregie Ogbeide Ihama, has emerged victorious in the much talked about Edo South Senatorial Primary Election of the All Progressives Congress, securing the party’s ticket ahead of other top contenders.
Reports filtering in from Benin City indicate that the incumbent senator, Neda Imasuen, came second in the keenly contested exercise, while former governorship candidate, Osagie Ize Iyamu, who many political observers believed would pose a major challenge, finished in a distant third position.
The outcome of the primary has already sparked fresh political conversations across Edo State, particularly within Edo South, where the contest was seen as a major test of strength among influential figures in the ruling party.
However, details surrounding the total votes scored by each aspirant are still being awaited, as Truth Live News correspondent in Benin City gathered that the official results were yet to be formally released by the national headquarters of the All Progressives Congress at the time of filing this report.
