BREAKING: Guardiola Finally Quits Man City, Crowned Most Successful Coach in Club History

Pep Guardiola will leave Manchester City at the end of the 2025/26 season, bringing to a close one of the most dominant and transformative managerial reigns in Premier League history.

The 55-year-old Catalan, who joined the club in July 2016, departs as the most successful coach in Manchester City’s history, having secured an astonishing 20 major trophies over a decade at the Etihad Stadium.

His tenure included six Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League, and the historic 2022/23 Treble.

In a heartfelt statement released by the club, Guardiola reflected on his time at CITY, “What a time we have had together.”

He added, “Don’t ask me the reasons I’m leaving.”

City confirmed that despite his departure as manager, Guardiola will maintain ties with the organisation in a new role as Global Ambassador for the City Football Group.

The announcement comes after a season in which Guardiola guided City to a domestic cup double winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup though they fell short in the Premier League title race. He informed players of his decision earlier this week, with his final Premier League match set for Sunday against Aston Villa.

Club officials have identified former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca as the leading candidate to succeed him, with talks already advanced.

Guardiola’s impact at City extended far beyond silverware. He elevated the club’s playing style, infrastructure, and global standing, delivering memorable moments including a record 100-point Premier League campaign in 2017/18 and four consecutive league titles from 2021 to 2024.

Fans and football figures worldwide are preparing emotional tributes as the curtain falls on a golden chapter for Manchester City.
