Tinubu Secures Landslide Victory in Yobe APC Presidential Primary

President Bola Tinubu recorded a landslide victory in the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election held in Yobe State on Saturday, May 23, 2026, securing 253,804 votes.

The results were announced in Damaturu by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, who served as the collation officer for the exercise.

According to Buni, Tinubu polled 91.5 per cent of the total registered APC members in the state to emerge winner of the primary election.

He said the President defeated his challenger, Osifo Stanley, who failed to secure a single vote in the exercise.

“President Tinubu has scored 91.5 per cent of the total number of registered APC members in Yobe State in today’s presidential primary election,” Buni declared while announcing the results.

He added, “President Tinubu was declared winner of the election, having scored 253,804 votes to beat Osifo Stanley, who scored zero votes.”

The governor described Yobe as a stronghold of the APC and a “second home” to the President, expressing confidence that the state would deliver overwhelming support for Tinubu in the general election.

“Yobe State will deliver 100 per cent of its votes to President Tinubu in the general election to return him to office for his second term,” Buni stated.

He also commended APC supporters for the massive turnout recorded during the primary and urged party members to maintain the same level of commitment during the general election.

“We should reflect this in the general election with full force,” he said.

Buni further praised residents of the state for the peaceful conduct of the exercise, describing the primary as a strong demonstration of loyalty and support for both Tinubu and the ruling APC.

“I commend the people for the peaceful conduct and the show of love to President Tinubu and the party,” the governor added.

The primary election saw participation from APC members across the 17 local government areas of Yobe State, further underscoring the party’s dominance in the state.
