Just In: ADC Candidates In Cross River Endorse Atiku For Presidency

CROSS RIVER, NIGERIA – Candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Cross River State have unanimously endorsed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate, describing him as the leader capable of rebuilding Nigeria and restoring public confidence in governance.


In a joint statement issued by the candidates after what they described as “extensive consultations” with supporters, stakeholders and grassroots structures across the state, the party faithful said the endorsement was reached at a critical moment in the country’s democratic journey.


The candidates said their decision was driven by the belief that Nigeria requires “experienced, inclusive and visionary leadership” capable of strengthening democratic institutions, revitalizing the economy and promoting national unity.


According to the statement, Atiku has consistently demonstrated commitment to democratic values, economic reforms and participatory governance devoid of sectional interests.


The ADC candidates further stated that the former vice president’s leadership experience and national outlook would not only benefit Cross River State but also provide a credible pathway toward rebuilding the country and creating opportunities for young people, women, businesses and vulnerable communities.


“We, the duly nominated candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Cross River State, after extensive consultations with our supporters, stakeholders, and grassroots structures across the State, hereby unanimously endorse the candidacy of H.E. Atiku Abubakar as the Presidential candidate of the ADC at this critical moment in our nation’s history,” the statement read.


The candidates added that the endorsement aligned with the manifesto and ideals of the ADC, stressing that the country needed accountable governance, justice, prosperity and national renewal.


They called on party supporters and members across the state to unite behind what they termed a shared vision for a better Nigeria.


“We therefore call on our supporters, party faithful, and all well-meaning members of our party to unite behind this shared vision of national renewal, justice, prosperity, and accountable governance,” the statement added.
