Hajiya Amina Abubakar, the wife of late Major General Abubakar Rabe (rtd), has regained freedom from captivity.
She was abducted alongside her late husband when their vehicle was ambushed along Marabar Musawa–Kafinsoli road in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State, on May 30, 2026.
The duo were travelling for a wedding when they ran into the ambush.
Two weeks later, the death of her husband was announced while the captors refused to release her.
But on Monday, soldiers were said to have engaged the bandits in gun battle, leading to the release of the widow.
