The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu as its preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, disclosed this decision, explaining that APGA would not field its own presidential candidate.
Opara clarified that the absence of an APGA presidential candidate’s name on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal should not be misinterpreted, as the party’s leadership had resolved to back Tinubu’s re-election bid following extensive consultations.
He noted that the decision was taken by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), which determined that supporting the president was in the overall interest of the country.
“We have not uploaded a presidential candidate because the National Executive Committee of the party has already taken a decision to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027,” Opara stated.
The party affirmed its active participation in the electoral process, having successfully submitted candidates for National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly positions.
