UEFA Fines Real Madrid €30,000 for Homophobic Chants

Real Madrid has been fined €30,000 (£24,800) by UEFA for homophobic chants sung by their fans during a Champions League match against Manchester City in February.

The chants were directed at Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

In addition to the fine, UEFA has also imposed a partial stadium closure, which has been suspended for two years.

This means that if Real Madrid commits a similar offense within the next two years, they will have to close at least 500 adjacent seats during a match.
