Popular Edo entertainer and public figure, Maleke Idowu, has urged Edo indigenes living in Austria and across the diaspora to look beyond negative narratives and unverified reports circulating online and take a closer, firsthand look at developments in their home state.

Speaking during a live stage appearance in Austria, Maleke made a passionate appeal to Edo people abroad not to allow propaganda, misinformation or one-sided accounts to define their perception of Edo State.

He challenged them to return home, see developments for themselves and make informed judgments based on facts rather than hearsay.

Maleke also called on Edo indigenes in the diaspora to channel their influence, resources and expertise toward the development of the state, stressing that their connection to home should extend beyond criticism to meaningful investment and participation in Edo’s future.

He said the best way for Edo people in the diaspora to understand what is happening in the state is to return home, see things for themselves, reconnect with their roots and contribute meaningfully to the development of their homeland.

Maleke particularly encouraged Edo people abroad to bring home their businesses, investments, ideas, professional skills and experiences, stressing that the development of Edo requires the collective efforts of both those at home and those in the diaspora.

While acknowledging that there are still challenges that require attention, he called for honesty and constructive engagement in addressing them.

According to the Mini mini wanna wanna crooner, Edo people should be willing to speak up when things are wrong, support efforts that promote progress and peace, and avoid allowing negative stories to become the sole definition of the state.

“Let’s face reality. Let’s leave propaganda. Come and see for yourself. Let’s make Edo State work,” Maleke said.
