At 54: Celebrating a Voice of Conscience, Courage and Compassion — Truth Live News International Celebrates Its Founder, Deacon Ambassador Darlington Okpebholo Ray

Today, 31 August, Truth Live News International celebrates not merely the birthday of its founder, but the remarkable journey of a man whose life has been defined by conviction, service, courage and an enduring commitment to humanity. Deacon Ambassador Darlington Okpebholo Ray turns 54 today, marking another significant chapter in a life devoted to speaking for the voiceless and standing firmly for the values he believes can make society better.

A media and political strategist, Human Resource professional, writer, publisher, social and human rights advocate and investigative journalist, Darlington Okpebholo Ray represents a rare intersection between professional accomplishment and public conscience. Through journalism and public engagement, he has consistently maintained that the media must be more than a platform for reporting events; it must also serve as a watchdog of society, a defender of truth and a voice for those whose cries are too often ignored.

As Founder and Publisher of Truth Live News International, he has championed journalism that interrogates power, challenges injustice and refuses to surrender its conscience at the altar of political convenience. His writings and interventions have frequently reflected an uncompromising belief that leadership must be accountable and that corruption, wherever it exists, remains one of the greatest obstacles to Nigeria’s progress and the dignity of its people.

Beyond journalism and politics lies perhaps the most defining element of the man: empathy. His compassion for the downtrodden, the disadvantaged and those struggling at the margins of society has remained central to his worldview. He believes that society must ultimately be judged not merely by the prosperity of the powerful, but by how it treats those who have little influence, limited opportunities and no powerful voices speaking on their behalf.

Yet, beneath the journalist, strategist, publisher and advocate stands a man anchored in faith. As a Deacon and preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he believes that public service without humanity is empty and that Christianity must transcend words to manifest in compassion, justice, forgiveness and service to others.

At 54, Darlington Okpebholo Ray remains an unrepentant advocate of a corruption free society, convinced that Nigeria’s greatness will never be fully realised until institutions become stronger than individuals, public office becomes genuinely accountable to the people, and leadership is understood as a sacred responsibility rather than an opportunity for personal enrichment.

His journey has not been without challenges, disagreements or battles. But perhaps that is inevitable for anyone determined to maintain an independent voice. He has never claimed perfection. Rather, his story is that of a man continually learning, evolving and striving to leave every institution, community and individual he encounters better than he found them.

Today, therefore, we celebrate 54 years of life, faith, resilience, advocacy and service.

We celebrate the journalist who believes truth must never become an endangered commodity.

We celebrate the advocate who believes the vulnerable deserve a voice.

We celebrate the strategist who believes politics should ultimately serve humanity.

We celebrate the Christian who believes faith must be demonstrated through love and service.

And above all, we celebrate a man who still believes that a better Nigeria and a more just society are possible.

On behalf of the management, editorial team, associates, friends and readers of Truth Live News International, we wish our Founder and Publisher, Deacon Ambassador Darlington Okpebholo Ray, a glorious 54th birthday and many more years of good health, wisdom, strength and purposeful service to God and humanity.

Happy 54th Birthday, Sir.

Keep speaking. Keep writing. Keep believing. Keep standing for truth.

Truth may sometimes stand alone, but it must never be silent.
