CROSS RIVER, CALABAR – The Director-General of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Governorship Campaign Organisation in Cross River State, Hon. Prince Henry Enyong, has urged party members and supporters to remain calm following the reported omission of governorship candidate Ambassador Princess Nkoyo Toyo and her running mate, Dr. Dino Morgan, from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) final list of candidates.

Enyong said the party was aware of the development and was taking appropriate steps to address the matter, urging supporters to remain peaceful and law-abiding while efforts to resolve the issue continued.

“I appeal to all our members, supporters, and well-wishers to remain calm. The party is aware of the situation and is working to address it,” he said.

He urged party faithful to avoid speculation, panic and actions capable of creating unnecessary tension, adding that the campaign organisation would keep members informed of relevant developments.

Enyong also called on party stakeholders to demonstrate unity, discipline and confidence as the ADC pursued a resolution through the appropriate electoral and administrative channels.

The reported omission comes amid wider concerns by political parties over missing names in INEC’s final lists of candidates for the 2027 general elections.

Vanguard reported that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), whose Kano governorship candidate and running mate were reportedly omitted, said it had not gone to court but was discussing the discrepancies with INEC.

The NDC said it intended to explore the 14-day window provided under the Electoral Act 2026 to correct errors identified in its submission, while pursuing available legal and constitutional options to secure recognition for its candidates.

Vanguard also reported that the Peoples Democratic Party and the Social Democratic Party were among parties affected by omissions from the lists.

The ADC campaign organisation reiterated its commitment to peaceful democratic engagement and urged supporters to remain united while the matter was being addressed.
