Ribery Reveals Near-Leg Amputation Due to Staphylococcus Infection

Bayern Munich legend Franck Ribery has shared a harrowing experience where he contracted Staphylococcus aureus, leading to a severe infection that nearly resulted in the amputation of his leg.

Truth Live News reports that Ribery underwent knee surgery, but a subsequent infection caused significant damage, leaving him with “holes” in his leg.

In an interview with L’Equipe, the 41-year-old Frenchman recounted his terrifying ordeal, saying, “I was really scared. They could have cut off my leg.”

Ribery’s injury occurred during his second campaign with Salernitana, which ultimately became his final professional season.
