Photos: Tight Security at PDP Headquarters Ahead Parallel Meetings


Ahead of the parallel meetings of the the two factions battling for the soul of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), security operatives have taken over the National Headquarters of the party.

The secretariat is located at Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

According to Daily Trust, not less than 15 Hilux Vans and two Armoured personnel Carriers, stationed at their main gate of the opposition party.

Security operatives comprising of the Police and Civil Defense officers, were positioned at strategic position around the secretariat.

On Monday, the the newly elected National Chairman of the party, Barrister Tanimu Turaki, SAN, told journalists at a Police station that he had come to seek police protection for the inaugural meeting of the new National Working Committee (NWC) and other stakeholders of the party, including governors and lawmakers.

He described the Abdulrahman Muhammed-led faction backed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, as no longer members of the Party.

The factional National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, also announced a Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of their faction today at Wadata Plaza.

However, as at the time of filing this report, both parties were yet to be sighted at the party headquarters.
