These are certainly not the best of times for the embattled national chairman of Nigeria`s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as more revelations have exposed how the impeached former senate president Dr. Iyorchia Ayu collected bribes ranging from billions of Naira, to millions of US dollars, exotic cars, etc from some aspirants and governors.
Beyond collecting a whopping sum of 1 billion naira from a presidential aspirant in Lagos, as revealed by the governor of Rivers State, Mr. Nyesom Wike, the Benue state-born national chairman of PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu has got his hands in the cookie jars as he fantastically wallows in the dirty swamp of corruption.
First, it was alleged that Delta state Governor and PDP vice presidential candidate Mr. Ifeanyi Okowa secretly purchased a G-Wagon Mercedes Benz for Iyorchia Ayu.
A source within the party in Asaba, Delta, who pleaded for anonymity confirmed to Truthlive.net that Okowa gifted Ayu the highly expensive ride in a bid to sabotage other presidential aspirants at the PDP presidential primaries and paved the way for the emergence of Atiku Abubakar because he Okowa was eyeing the vice presidential slot.
According to our source, Ayu also collected the sum of $3 million from a senator in Akwa-Ibom. Ayu equally collected another $2 million with a bulletproof Mercedes from Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa-Ibom state.
He said: “The same Ayu acquired a house worth 1 billion naira for his son Shima, and another house in the US worth $2 million for his girlfriend Naomi”.
The source who promised to reveal more detail backed with documented evidence also stated that Okowa paid Ayu N2bn to for his candidate in Delta gubernatorial, Sheriff to be cleared.
In his words: “Deltans will start asking their Governors questions about those monies very soon and the world would know how corrupt he is with the national chairman”
“It is our money and Okowa must give an account as we are well armed with documents as evidence, the obviously buttered PDP faithful asserted.
