The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) strongly condemns the recent deadly attacks on communities in Plateau State, which left many people dead, including children, and caused significant destruction.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Professor Tukur A. Muhammad-Baba, the ACF said “these attacks reflect the worsening security situation in Nigeria, especially in the northern region.”
The Forum called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in areas affected by banditry and to establish early-warning and quick response systems to prevent such tragedies.
They called for better intelligence gathering and legal action against those responsible for the attacks are also necessary.
The ACF emphasized the need for compensation for the families of victims and medical support for the injured.
Supporting community leaders, religious figures, and civil groups to promote peace and dialogue is crucial.
The Forum also stresses the importance of greater accountability from the National Assembly and security agencies.
Citizens are encouraged to help by reporting credible information about criminal and terrorist activities.
The ACF shows support for the Federal Government, Plateau State officials, and security forces, while emphasizing the need for urgent and united action to tackle the growing security crisis.
