Pastor Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom state says there is no joy that you can get more than just sitting down, watching your children and grandchildren perform on stage and called on parents to engage their children in creative endeavor.
Governor Eno who made the call while addressing the audience at the Rising Star Concert, Edition 4.0, held on Sunday at Rehoboth Hall, Royalty Hotel in Eket LGA, said for him, this was his day of happy hour.
Eno urged parents to engage their children in creative endeavours saying It relaxes the mind and calms the nerves.
The number one leader in the state also said that to acquire skills in the creative arts makes them valuably engaged and impact positively on the society .
Governmment press unit reports that the governor acknowledged the fact that there could not have been a better happy hour for him than the Sunday evening thrilling moments savoured in the extraordinary talents showcased in the ballet, musical renditions, instrumentations, miming and other dances performed by the children.
“There is no joy that you can get more than just sitting down, watching your children and grandchildren perform. It relaxes your mind and calms your nerves. For me, this is my day of happy hour,” he said. That they kept him spellbound throughout the show.
He appreciated the organisers and trainers of the children for catching them young and diligently grooming them into stars that can give joy.
The CEO of Rikjoy Performing Arts Academy and organizer of the event, Mrs. Idara Imo-owo Nabuk, was said to have expressed delight and honour for the Governor’s presence at the occasion.
She said music enhances children cognitive abilities and general brain development, and as well builds confidence and human relations.
While music is acting as anti-stress agent, Nabuk said that she was inspired to set up the Academy to help children learn music and creative arts professionally to enable them fit into the global entertainment industry.
