Police Arrest Two Armed Robbery Suspects For Killing Truck Driver, Conductor In Edo

Operatives of the Edo State Police command have arrested two suspected armed robbers who shot a Truck Driver and conductor to death.

The incident took place on 8th of January, 2024 at about 0530hrs at Ehor in Uhunmwode LGA of Edo state, Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the truck driver and motor conductor were attacked along Benin-Agbor Road by Okhuaihe Bridge, Benin City.

The suspects are Daniel Amuzoga, 33 from Ukwuani in Delta State, and Christopher Omiose, 30 from Esan in Edo State.

They attacked the victims along Benin-Agbor Road by Okhuaihe Bridge, Benin City.

“The Divisional Police Officer of Okhuaihe Division, Benin City on Thursday February 8, 2024 at about 0600hrs, received a complaint from one Nwoye Ezeako ‘M’ of Umunya Village in Oyi LGA, of Anambra State,” said PPRO SP Chidi Nwabuzo.

In addition, he said the four armed robbers with guns and cutlass attacked the victims when transporting 45,000 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) from Lagos State to Onitsha, Anambra State in a Mark Truck with Reg. No. ENU 376 XU.

SP Nwabuzo said that the armed robbers mounted the expressway, robbed the victims and complainant of their belongings.

Also, the suspected armed robbers shot the truck driver in the chest and stabbed the motor conductor on his foreheads with a cutlass and also shot the complainant in the hand.

However, Nwabuzo said, when the DPO and his men arrived the scene,  they immediately rushed the victims to the hospital for treatment.

But unfortunately, the medical doctor confirmed the truck driver and his motor conductor dead and their bodies deposited at the hospital mortuary.

Meanwhile, Truth Live News gathered that the complainant is responding to treatment.

On the other hand, Nwabuzo disclosed that the arrested suspects are currently helping the police intelligence department in their investigation.
