Cross River State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey has commended the effort of the Nigerian army officers in safeguarding the nation’s territorial boundaries.
Odey made the commendation when he received the new Commander of NNS Victory, Commodore R. D. Oderemi, accompanied by the outgoing Commander, Commodore V. B. Gbaranwi in his office in Calabar.
The deputy Governor who took to his X handle to share appreciation observed that these Army officers and the gentlemen under their command make huge sacrifices for the safety of the people.
He wrote: “Earlier today, I received the new Commander of NNS Victory, Commodore R. D. Oderemi, accompanied by the outgoing Commander, Commodore V. B. Gbaranwi in my office.”
Accordingly, “these Army officers and the gentlemen under their command are making huge sacrifices for the safety of our people.”
Truth Live News noted that with the rise of insurgency and piracies in Nigeria’s waterways, Nigerians can still have faith in their soldiers for safety.
Recall that in October 2023, the Cross River State Governmment promised to support the Nigerian army in its realtime operation.
It made the commitment during the flag-off of exercise Still Water III at the step up headquarters in Ikang, Bakassi LGA, south south Nigeria.
