In an unprecedented triumph for cultural heritage, Rev. Olu Martins, Director General
Media and Publicity of the Asue/Ogie campaign organization have extended warm congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, and the entire Edo community on the long-awaited return of the revered Ancient royal stool artefacts from Germany.
In a statement made available to Truth Live News, he asserted that this monumental repatriation signifies the restoration of the esteemed cultural legacy of the Benin Kingdom and a profound acknowledgement of the historical and artistic significance embedded within the Benin Kingdom.
Rev Martins opined that retrieving these priceless artefacts heralds a new dawn in “our shared narrative”, reinforcing the depth of the kingdom’s cultural identity and paying homage to the enduring legacy of its forebears.
In his words: “It stands as a testament to the indomitable spirit and resilience of the Benin people throughout history and is an excellent omen of global greatness coming to the Benin Kingdom”.
