Bandits Kill Four in Katsina Attack, Residents Protest Insecurity

At least four people have been killed after armed bandits attacked the Yar Unguwa community in Katsina State’s Kurfi Local Government Area, leaving many residents injured and a large number of cattle and livestock rustled.

 

The attack occurred late Saturday night, with security analyst Bakatsine reporting that bandits stormed the community, killing four people, injuring many, and rustling livestock.

 

“Yesterday night, bandits stormed Yar Unguwa community in Rawayau district, Kurfi LGA, Katsina State. They killed four people, injured many & rustled a large number of cattle and livestock,” he said.

 

In a separate incident, security forces allegedly shot a young man during a peaceful protest in Mairua community, Faskari Local Government Area, where residents blocked the Gusau-Funtua road to protest rising insecurity.

 

He stated, “This afternoon, security forces allegedly shot a youth during a peaceful protest in Mairua, Faskari LGA, Katsina State. Residents blocked Gusau-Funtua road to protest rising insecurity in the axis.”

 

Authorities have yet to officially comment on both incidents.
