The Management of Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) Plc, has cried out over the high rates of vandalization of its facilities in its franchise states just as it asked the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ) to help stem its tides for the well being of all Nigerians.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr Deolu Ijose made the call during a courtesy visit to the Corps Commandant, Commandant Matthew Uboyi, in Benin City.
He said curbing the assault of staff and the vandalism of electrical equipments within the Disco’s franchise states of Edo, Delta, Ondo and Ekiti is very sacrosanct.
According to Deolu who spoke through the Chief Security Officer of the company, Lt Col David Solomon Aghedo (Rtd) said, the visit was a continuation of his familiarisation and interaction with key sensitive stakeholders in the Disco’s network since his appointment as the MD/CEO of Benin Disco, adding that his visit was also to strengthen the mutual relationship that has existed among them over the years.
Deolu further commended the NSCDC Commandant for the effort in assisting BEDC to combat vandals adding that he must not relent in his good job.
Responding, the NSCDC Commandant, commended the Managing Director for his visit and promised to work hand-in-hand with BEDC to fight vandals.
He assured the MD of an effective synergy and assistance in protecting the assets of BEDC, adding that the command will work with the Disco in identifying the means where these illicit acts are happening to bring culprits to face the wrath of the law.
