The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has revealed that it’s filing an appeal on the court ruling that demands the association to end the ongoing industrial strike.
The association revealed via their official Facebook page that it’s taking up the case to appeal court to ensure that the Federal Government meet its demands before they call off the strike.
The notification sounded very serious as the association made it very clear that it’s not a struggle they can let go at the moment as they urge its members to remain united and focused on the struggle.
Recall that truthtlive.net had earlier reported the National Industrial Court has ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), to call off the ongoing Strike.
Justice Polycarp Hamman, in a ruling on Wednesday, said he was invoking Section 18 of Trade Dispute Act, which allows the court to order an end to strike when national interest is at stake.
Justice Hamman held that it was necessary to end the strike because the students have a right to education.
The post reads:
“Our lawyer is filing an appeal and stay of execution of the judgment. A people united can never be defeated.”
