Kano, Nigeria

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has reached out to Kano state Governor Abba Yusuf, urging him to switch allegiance and join the APC. Governor Abba Yusuf, who secured his position under the New Nigeria Peoples Party, received this unexpected invitation during a stakeholders meeting in Kano state on Thursday.

Ganduje, formerly the governor of Kano state, now holds the influential position of the national Chairman of the APC. This move comes on the heels of the Supreme Court’s ruling that confirmed the victory of Governor Abba Yusuf, marking a shift in the political landscape of the most populous northern state.

Truth Live News gathered that the APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, has appealed to Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano to dump the NNPP, in the state to join the APC.

Speaking at the stakeholders meeting in Kano on Thursday, Mr Ganduje, said Mr Yusuf’s joining of the APC will make Kano a one-party state.

According to him, at the end of the meeting, APC had resolved to woo all other smaller parties into the umbrella of APC.

“We have achieved in wooing some governors to join APC. Very soon some governors will join our party. So, if we can do this at national level, why can’t we do it at state level?

“Our hands are wide open. We are appealing to those who like to join our party. In particular, we are inviting the governor of Kano state to dump his party, NNPP, and join APC.

“We are calling him. We promise to create enabling environment for the governor of Kano State so that we make a solid, a very big followership.

“This is a reflection of our population since we are the most populous state in the federation,” Mr Ganduje said.

The battle for political dominance in Kano is intensifying, with Ganduje making efforts to forge an alliance with Governor Abba Yusuf. This strategic move seems aimed at sidelining Kwankwaso, Ganduje’s predecessor and the national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPC). As events unfold, Truth Live News remains committed to providing timely updates on this developing political drama.
