Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari has announced that Israel’s ground forces are expanding their operations tonight. In a statement, Hagari emphasised that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) were operating on multiple dimensions to secure the region.

Addressing the situation at the al Shifa hospital, which the IDF claims is being used as Hamas’s headquarters, Hagari noted that they have exposed an underground sphere. He further stated that the IDF will continue to carry out attacks in Gaza and its surroundings. In a message to citizens, he assured them that better conditions could be found in the south of the region.

Hagari also highlighted that IDF soldiers along the northern border are on high alert, actively countering threats and targeting hostile cells. Additionally, he urged residents to adhere to the instructions provided by the home front command, emphasizing the importance of their safety on the home front.

In response to the Israeli military’s expansion of operations, residents of Gaza City have been advised to move south. The Israeli military spokesman stated that this step was necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents.

In a separate development, the Netblocks internet observatory reported a breakdown in internet connectivity in the Gaza Strip. According to the observatory, live network data indicated a collapse in connectivity within the region. The observatory noted that this occurred as ongoing fighting with Israel had resulted in a decline in connectivity, with the company being the last remaining major operator to provide services.

Meanwhile, Hamas’s armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, claimed responsibility for launching rockets towards Tel Aviv in response to what they referred to as “Zionist massacres committed against civilians.” The group made this announcement on the messaging app Telegram.
