During the #KogiDecides2023 election, a surprising twist occurred as Olayinka Braimoh, the Action Alliance governorship candidate in Kogi State, was arrested in Kabba, Kabba Bunu LGA.
Security agencies apprehended him and his security detail after allegedly discovering campaign materials in his car. Concerns arose when his aides lost contact, initially fearing a possible kidnapping. From Iyamoye, Ijumu LGA, his media aide, Musa Yakubu, expressed alarm over the situation, urging security agencies to locate Braimoh.
Subsequent developments revealed Braimoh’s police detention, with his security detail still held. Despite his release, he couldn’t cast his vote in the ongoing election. Attempts to obtain an official police response from spokesperson William Aya were unsuccessful.
