All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and international entrepreneur Chief Stanley Osifo has formally declared his intention to contest the party’s presidential ticket for the 2027 general elections.
Osifo, a 50-year-old businessman from Oluku Ward in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State and a former presidential aspirant, made the declaration on Tuesday at the party’s Secretariat in Abuja, where he personally purchase the APC’s ₦100 million nomination and expression of interest forms (₦30 million for expression of interest and ₦70 million for nomination) ahead of the party’s primaries, scheduled for May 15-16.
Osifo emphasized a grassroots-driven approach, vowing to flag off his campaign from his ward and focus on addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges, particularly security and economic reforms through fiscal discipline.
“I write to inform Nigerians of my declaration to run for the office of the President. We are not joking this time around, we are buying the form,” Osifo stated.
He stressed that his bid stems from personal conviction and a desire to offer fresh ideas, not any hidden sponsorship.
The move comes despite widespread endorsements for President Tinubu’s second-term bid, including from APC governors and other party stakeholders who have pushed for a consensus or sole-candidacy arrangement.
