BREAKING: Petrol Tanker Overturns on Tincan Bridge as Residents Scoop Fuel (VIDEO)

A petrol tanker has overturned on the Tincan Liverpool Bridge in Lagos, triggering a dangerous scene as scores of people rushed under the bridge to scoop fuel from the fallen truck.

In a short video clip obtained by Truth Live News on Monday morning, the tanker is seen lying on its side while individuals, armed with jerry cans, buckets, and plastic containers, hurriedly collect petrol leaking from the vehicle. The incident caused panic and traffic disruption in the area, with motorists slowing down and some abandoning their vehicles to avoid potential danger.

Eyewitnesses said the tanker reportedly lost control while moving the bridge, leading to the accident. Shortly after the crash, residents and passersby converged at the scene, ignoring the obvious risk of fire outbreak or explosion.

As of the time of filing this report, it was unclear whether emergency responders or security agencies had arrived to cordon off the area and prevent further escalation. The situation has raised serious safety concerns, especially given past incidents where fuel scooping led to fatal explosions.

Authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the accident and take measures to prevent loss of lives and property, while members of the public are urged to stay away from accident scenes involving petroleum products due to their highly flammable nature.

Truth Live News will continue to monitor developments and provide updates.
