A fire outbreak has destroyed a major administrative block at the Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu in Enugu State.
The blaze, which occurred on Monday night, razed offices housing the institution’s Examinations and Records Unit and Procurement Unit. Other facilities affected include the Centre for Educational Technology, the Governing Council Chambers, and the Integrated Science Laboratory.
Sources within the college said the incident has raised serious concerns over the possible loss of vital academic documents, including students’ records and examination materials.
Although some stakeholders speculated that the fire may have been deliberately set amid ongoing internal disputes and petitions, authorities have yet to determine the actual cause.
As of press time, the college management had not released an official statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the incident or the full extent of the damage.
